The Dividend Investors Report

Dividend investing is a good option for investors looking to add a regular income component to their portfolio. It’s pretty easy to find out some basic information on a company’s dividend such as its ex-dividend date, the dividend payable date, the dividend rate and its current yield. It’s a bit more challenging to find out if a company offers a Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRIP) and the discount it offers off the share price, if any, but the information is typically found in the company’s Management Information Circular.

Subscribers to this website have free access to our monthly Dividend Investors Report, a simplified document organized by sector so that investors can see all the relevant dividend information for the stocks and income trusts they hold and their competitors. Below is a sample of the latest Dividend Investors Report:

The tables in the report, sorted by the 11 sectors for the 230+ securities traded on the S&P/TSX Composite Index, make it a one-stop shop for comparing the various dividend features of a security you should consider. For example, if you’re considering purchasing a gold stock, you may lean more toward higher yielding stocks or those which offer a DRIP and discount option. Even if you’re already satisfied with your portfolio construction, it never hurts to keep an eye on what the competition is up to.
