Advancers & Decliners - Week Ending March 6, 2020

In one of the most volatile weeks for the TSX, and coming off a week where the S&P/TSX Composite Index fell almost 9%, investors had a bit of relief at the end of the day as the Index fell just 88 points, or 0.54%, to close at 16,175. Looking at the performances by sector, however, and you’ll find a clear line drawn between cyclical and non-cyclical stocks. Low-volatile sectors such as Consumer Staples (3.79%) and Utilities (5.43%) did well, while volatile sectors such as Energy (-11.01%) and Consumer Cyclicals (-5.26%) did not.

With that in mind, take a look at the week’s top advancers and decliners by sector and see if any of the stocks you own are on the list. And as always, feel free to subscribe to receive the full list every week in PDF and Excel formats. Have a great weekend!
