Advancers & Decliners - Week Ending April 3, 2020

It was yet another week of crazy volatility in the markets. Whereas I’m used to seeing about a 3-5% standard deviation of return range for a given week, it’s been more like 15%+ for about a month now and this week was no exception as Energy stocks went skyrocketing. I suppose that’s going to happen the lower oil prices go - in terms of price movements, it doesn’t seem to take much to move the needle 5, 10, 15, or even 20%. Energy stocks were the leaders this week, averaging a nearly 27% gain, and the average stock in the S&P/TSX Composite Index gained 3.43%.
